Big milestone, the binkies are being sent off to the babies today - the binkie fairy is coming tonight! Our kids are pretty attached to their binkies, they are major chewers and put anything and everything in their mouth. It is definitely a comfort/soothe thing and we have been allowing them to have binkies at night for awhile now, not completely taking them away.
We decided it was time, the boys no longer 'need' them so we decided to have daycare help us out. All week we have been talking about the babies at daycare. When we walk in we look at the little babies, and when we leave we look at them and we talk about how the little babies don't have words yet and don't know how to play with friends like gavin and lucas do.
We asked the boys if they thought it was a good idea to give our binkies to the babies at daycare, and they said yes!
So tonight we package them up, and tomorrow we will take them in and 'drop them off' for the babies. Of course the daycare director knows they are to go straight in the trash, but gavin and lucas think they will be really helping those babies and are excited to be big boys without binkies!
