You are your mothers son! I am sitting next to you at the kitchen table (after you woke up too soon from your short little cat nap) and you are kicking your feet happily on your highchair. So much like me, it is hard to believe. GiGi says I was always kicking my feet and took short naps too. Your big brother is still sound asleep in his crib.
What I really wanted to tell you is, congrats! You finally started crawling! It is about time kid, you are about to turn a year old! You can also push yourself up from laying down to a full sit on your own and are starting to pull up to a stand (though you don't know how to get back down and last week hit your head really hard which made mommy sad).
Daddy calls your crawl the "wounded soldier" you pull yourself along with your left arm bent, and right arm laying beside you. Your legs just lay there and your arm does all the work, slowly inching along. Sometimes you accidentally roll over. Luckily I got a bit of it on video for you to see what I am talking about. For the longest time you would roll yourself onto your side and hold there, which coined your latest nickname "Abs" because it looks like you are doing sit ups.
Being mobile has made you very happy and I hardly hear you cry for me anymore - such a little independent boy you are becoming! You are very strong and very precise instead of trying over and over again you just watch brother and then do it first try! You love to play with buttons and zippers on clothing and can spend hours spinning your little train toy round and round. Anything with lights and buttons is your idea of a good time! We recently bought you a little bead maze toy and you spend lots of time pushing the beads around and spinning them. You are a happy baby when you have a challenge like this to figure out!
You love to say "ha" "hey" and "hi" but you don't know what it means yet, sometimes you say it over and over again (like this morning when we were watching the news and you were talking to the TV).
More later, you are calling for me now to come and play!
Love you,
Mommy
