Stats, Sleeping, Smiling & Shreeking!

The boys two month stats:

Gavin: 20 1/2 inches long (50%), 10 lbs 1 oz (90%).

Lucas: 20 1/2 inches long (50%), 8 lbs 12.5 oz (50%)

The doctor said both boys are doing great, they had to get shots which was harder on me then them. Lucas has a herniated belly button, but the doctor isn't worried right now. The percentiles above are based on a preemie chart - both boys are almost into the full term baby growth chart! They go back for their 4 month checkup next.

Yesterday the boys were so difficult, didn't want to eat or sleep but just cry at the same time for hours. So last night we decided something had to change... we concluded that we were not going to wake up the babies in the middle of the night to eat and change. We would typically wake up Gavin if Lucas woke up to eat in the middle of the night. We didn't do that and Gavin slept for 5 hours straight - 10 pm to 3 am!

This morning the boys ate well and played - Gavin started smiling at me when I made faces and talked to him. Both boys smile when they have gas, but this week Gavin has started to smile at us! He did it about 10 times before deciding it was nap time - now both boys are taking a nap!

Both boys also have 'learned' their voice and both shreek very loud when they need something. Lucas still lets out one very loud scream, calms himself down and if you don't respond will scream again until you tend to him. Gavin on the other hand works himself up into a scream that sounds like he is going to throw up or hyperventilate, it starts like a whine and then becomes louder and louder. It's funny to see their personalities through their cries, Lucas is much more laid back and Gavin is the sensitive one.

I almost forgot; the boys are officially in 0-3 month clothes (though some nb still fits). And Gavin is in size 1 diapers, they fit much better no more blow outs!

Happy St. Patricks Day! More later...
