You really started talking this year, here is what you have said and done that we had to write down (in order with the latest at the bottom):
Gavin learned how to blow kisses, and tries to copy blah blah blah sounds w/ tounge movement.
Lucas started mouthing "mama" but no sounds come out. He will say it every once and awhile but not on cue or directed at me.
Both boys think bananas are like candy. Gavin points, yells, kicks his feet and says "BA-MAMA!!!" whenever he sees one. It's cute until they won't eat anything else if a banana has been sighted.
New words: gavin calls me dada now. Daddy thinks it is funny to call me the other dada. Lucas says pruck, ball, cat, mama, dada...
We love listening to the sweet sound of Lucas' favorite words: "pruck" for truck and "baa" for ball on repeat all day long. He gets so excited to tell us what he knows; such a happy little boy.
Gavin's favorite new game: go up to the cat, make him hiss and swat at you by hitting at him then turn to mom/dad and hold onto your arm, have a pouty face and say OOOhhhhh in a sad voice - what a faker! He has caught on from the times when the cat has bitten him and got in trouble...
We are learning our nice words in our house: "pa-wese" and "the-ooh" decoded: please & thank you. So sweet!!! It usually goes something like this: Gavin: "no, no, no!!!" Me: "you need to choose a nicer word" Gavin: "pa-weeese!" (please) ...Me: "ok, thank you for using nice words"
Gavin and Lucas have mastered the big N-O. We are in for it...
Vin&Luc have learned how to "tickle" which means that gavin scratches you with his finger nails and lucas hits you three times in a row... so sweet :)
Gavin & Lucas now affectionately call each other "buddy" (brother). As in "no,no,no buddy" with his pointer finger shaking at brother. Gavin wants to make sure the rules are followed.
Me: "I love you luc-a-potamus" Lucas: "yeah"
The boys learned the word rock "wok" so Christian proceeded to teach them "daddy rocks" which comes out "dada" [enter long pause] "woks". They also answer "what sound does a mama make? With a kiss kiss sound. *Love*
New favorite word becomes "nak" when the boys are hungry and want a snack... Especially when they get picked up from school. They also say yes if asked a question (so much better than the no phase) but it comes out as "yaw" - love!
Gavin has learned don't touch "ont uch" - Mr. Rules has to keep Lucas in line. Luc has decided everything makes him mad and he uses his hurt cry when he doesn't get what he wants - the joy.
Showed up at daycare today to find Lucas in the middle of saying "sorry" for biting a girl. The naughty streak continues...
Lucas the little chatter box woke up today talking about "ella-pie-ts" and "ma-keys".
Today after Lucas woke up from his nap he and I were snuggling (gavin was still asleep) and he asked for "Mickey" and handed me the remote so I said "is Mickey your favorite?" "No" he said, so I asked "who is your favorite?" And I got the cutest reply of; "buddy". So sweet!!!
When you ask Lucas what his name is he replies; "you-key". Gavin just says "no" - it's hard to have a name, we'll keep working on that one!
Lucas can count, it goes something like "one, two, nine" very clearly. If you ask him how many of anything he had, it is always "two" which he knows is how old they will be in January. *Love*
Mommy overshare warning: Lucas asked to go "poo poo" after dinner and he did it. Such a big boy, he got 2 m&m's. All along potty training has been Gavin's idea but Lucas actually does it. I don't think we are anywhere near being ready to be totally potty trained but we figure we will let them try!
Gavin & Lucas have a little matchbox car they have named "racey" they have 20 cars but only this one has a name. The others their dad has taught them the actual car brand. So this morning we spent fifteen minutes looking for racey. When we found him Gavin said "oh yeah nigh-night" like, how did he forget that's where he put him (to sleep in the little people barn). Toddlers are so funny!
While eating cereal this morning Gavin took the box of Life Christian was eating and points/says "i" - we did it a few times, he knows his first letter. Hooray!
