Dear Gavin,
Hooray for you - you said your first word (we think). The other day you clearly crawled over to me, said "up" lifted your arms and nodded your head. GiGi says that you did this the other day to her as well. So far Daddy doesn't believe us because he has not heard it yet.
We know you are trying to communicate. When you really want something (like food, a toy or our phone) you say "Mmmmmmmm" over and over again to get our attention. At first we just thought you were saying Yum, but it turns out you just really want whatever you are "Mmmmm-ing" at. It is so cute, unless you don't get it and the Mmmmm turns into a temper tantrum! Did I tell you that you started to do this, throwing a fit is not mommy's idea of a good time but you are definitely expressing yourself.
Lately you have been helping brother learn how to crawl. He isn't quite there yet so instead, you often pick up a toy and bring it over and give it to him. It is so nice of you to share like that since brother can't go get the toys quite yet. You are crawling so fast, pulling up and standing and trying to walk around the furniture - such a busy baby these days!
Often you will go up to Lucas, both of you have a binkie in your mouths - but you take brothers too! Then you sit down and try to put both in your mouth at once. Sometimes you will give the second binkie back to brother or come give it to me. Usually you trade the binkie you had for the new one and off you go to find a new adventure. We call you the binkie thief because of this!
My favorite is a new game you like to play; you make "buhh" sounds and strum your lips with your fingers. Every time I get the camera out you stop, but I hope sometime soon I can capture your cute sounds! You have also started waving, but you copy our action and end up waving at yourself - it is so funny and cute.
I also think it's so cute that you say "mama" and "dada" and "hey key (kitty) cat" - they sound like real worlds to us, we know you are copying our sounds but it is also very clear that you have no clue you are saying real words. It is so cute!
I love you very much!
Love,
Mommy
